Emily Pogorelc makes her highly anticipated Santa Fe Opera debut as Musetta in Puccini’s La bohème during the company’s 68th Festival Season. Set in a dazzling 1920s Parisian backdrop, this visually stunning production by James Robinson breathes new life into one of the most beloved operas of all time while preserving its timeless romance and heartbreaking poignancy.
At the heart of the story is the tragic love affair between Rodolfo (Long Long) and Mimì (Sylvia D’Eramo), alongside the fiery and passionate relationship of Musetta (Pogorelc) and Marcello (Szymon Mechliński in his American debut). With her radiant stage presence and dazzling coloratura, Pogorelc brings the spirited Musetta to life, ensuring a standout performance in this internationally acclaimed cast.
Under the baton of conductor Iván López-Reynoso, Puccini’s soaring melodies and lush orchestration shine with renewed vibrancy.
