Ms. Pogorelc has been announced as one of the new members of the The Patrick G. and Shirley W. Ryan Opera Center at The Lyric Opera of Chicago. She will join the 2018-19 ensemble, following her studies at the Curtis Institute in May. Also newly accepted into the ensemble were mezzo-soprano Kayleigh Decker, tenor Eric Ferring, baritones Christopher Kenney and Ricardo José Rivera, and bass-baritone David Weigel. They will join the current Ryan Opera Center members: sopranos Whitney Morrison and Ann Toomey; contralto Lauren Decker; tenors Josh Lovell and Mario Rojas; bass-baritone Alan Higgs; and pianist Madeline Slettedahl.
During the finals on September 9th, 2017, Ms. Pogorelc began with “The Willow Song” from Douglas Moore’s Ballad of Baby Doe and the panel chose “Da tempeste il legno infranto” from Handel’s Giulio Cesare.
